I lost interest in women's tennis after Henin's retirement. To put it succinctly, they all sucked. Williams's sisters intimidated their opponents through sheer power, Sharapova & Safina inconsistent and a host of other ex-Soviet players stepping into top 10 on a round robin basis. Today I saw bits of the Wimbledon semi-finals between Dementieva and Serena Williams. Though not anywhere near greatness, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality.

What about the men's finals? Something, huh?

I liked it, but not as much as last year's finals between Federer and Nadal.

But more than the competition I'm falling in love with Federer as a player. I watch his game in super slow motion and there is such grace and composure, such style in his shots and such economy in his movement. In front of him Roddick and Nadal look clumsy, though they're terrific by international standards. Add to that the way he conducts his interviews and appreciates his opponents.
